Traditional ways of serving customers are rapidly giving way to next generation business models. We are all familiar at this point of industries that have been upended by recent technology innovations. Whether it is Wikipedia relegating encyclopedias to the history books, Netflix taking over the home entertainment industry, or Uber disrupting transportation.

Many industries are full of friction and inefficiency because matching supply with demand is done in a slow and costly way – yesterday’s way. Next generation models, on the contrary, deliver greater value by orchestrating and enriching interactions between producers and consumers using innovative platform technologies made possible by ubiquitous network connectivity.

Tim walks attendees through the process of examining their current business and operational model in light of cutting-edge research on business strategy and multi-sided networks. He then helps attendees to lift their vision for growth. What could they accomplish if they were no longer constrained by asset acquisition, marketing content generation, or staff onboarding and training? How can they fend off upstart competitors using excess asset and labor capacity in the market to provide superior customer service while undercutting their prices? Attendees will leave this session with a clear understanding of the disruptive impact of new business strategies and ideas on how to become the disruptors of their industries, instead of the disrupted.
